相信我们很多人都知道tell这个单词的意思，“告诉”“告知”等，不过今天要列出的几个与tell组成的短语，其真正的意思却大不相同，一起来学习一下吧！

    1. Don't tell me

    Don't tell me

    不是"别告诉我"。

    当“Don't tell me!”是一个独立句子时，

    它表达的意思是“我才不信呢”，

    相当于"I can't believe"，是对你说的话表示怀疑。

    例句：

    This product has magical function.

    这个产品有神奇的功效。

    Don't tell me.

    我才不信呢！

    但“Don't tell me”后面接从句时，

    它也可以表达“别告诉我...”

    例句：

    Don't tell me that you can't remember.

    不要告诉我你记不起来了。

    2. Tell me about it

    Tell me about it

    是一句非常常用的口语表达，直译的话，

    这句话的意思是“快告诉我，跟我说说”。

    但是呢，在大多数情况下，

    当老外说这个表达时，

    表示自己能感同身受，

    赞成对方的观点。

    所以这个表达翻译成中文，

    意思就是：可不是嘛，

    谁说不是呢，我赞同你。

    例：

    A：Working overtime is really frustrating.

    加班真让人崩溃（沮丧）。

    B：Tell me about it.

    可不是嘛。

    如果真的是想对方讲下去

    可以用：

    Tell me what happened.

    或者

    Tell me more about it（something）.

    3. You can say that again

    You can say that again

    这个表达，可不是字面意思理解的“你可以再重复一遍”；

    它想要表达的，实际上是赞同对方说的话，

    表示“你说得好，说得对”的意。

    这句话的语气比较强烈，

    可以用来表示“相当同意”。

    例句：

    We all need more rest.

    我们都需要更多的休息。

    You can say that again.

    一点儿没错！

    所以这句话，也不能按字面意思理解，

    表示“你在告诉我”，

    而是“你说得太对了”。

    例句：

    A: This food is really terrible.

    这食物可真难吃。

    B: Wow! You're telling me!

    哇!你说的太对了！

    4. I'm telling you

    不是“我正在告诉你”。

    这个句子是想强调自己说的都是真的，

    希望对方要相信自己，

    可翻译为“请一定要相信我！”

    例句：

    I'm telling you,

    this is the best cake I've ever had.

    真的，这是我吃过最好吃的蛋糕。

    5. Tell on

    Tell on

    告发，检举

    to give information about someone， usually something bad that they have said or done,

    especially to a person in authority.

    向某人提供信息告发不正当之事（尤其是对当权者）。

    例句：

    Never mind, I won't tell on you.

    别担心，我不会告发你。
