本期我们要学习一些专注力相关的词汇,可用到本季度P1口语 concentration话题中。
1. distract /dɪ'strækt/
v. 分散(注意力);使分心;
常见搭配:distract sb. (’s attention/ mind) frome.g. The noise in the street distracted me from my reading.
e.g. Smartphones distract attention and reduce learning because of their potential to offer activities more inviting than studying.
补充:inviting adj. 诱人的
n. distraction 干扰;使人分心的事物
e.g. I can turn off the TV if you find it a distraction.
e.g. There are too many distractions here to work properly.

2. wander /'wɒndə/
v. 走神;开小差;
常见搭配:mind/ thoughts/ attention wander(s) 走神e.g. His mind would wander, and he would lose track of what he was doing.
e.g. The speech was boring and my mind began to wander.
v. 闲逛;漫步
e.g. When he got bored he wandered around the fair.
e.g. Visitors are free to wander through the gardens and woods.
3. zone /ˈzoʊn/
搭配:zone out: (由于过度劳累或厌倦等原因)注意力不集中e.g. He tends to zone out when I talk to him about my job.
zone 作为名词本意为区域,zone out 为走神,反过来 in the zone 或者get in the zone 则表示投入做某件事。
e.g. Once you just kind of just get in the zone on your own, you become comfortable, and it becomes something natural, as opposed to something that you’re nervous about.

4. attentive /ə'tentɪv/
