1. Are holidays important to you?

Yes, for me, holidays are really good opportunities to shake off my pressure and tension from my work and life. Also, I tend to arrange some family reunion activities on my day-offs, making holidays more meaningful.

有时候，题目的问法会稍微变一下，会变成更广泛一点的问题，就是对于人们来说，假期重要吗？

那我们可以说：

Yes, they’re definitely important for people. I mean people these days are under heavy pressure from work and even studies, so we do need a way to let our hair down and relax ourselves after the stressful weekdays. I can’t imagine what it would be if we keep on working seven days a week with no stop at all, which is gonna be awful.

 

2. How do you (usually) spend the weekend?

Normally, I just surf the Internet and watch some movies online. Or I just go shopping and have meals with my friends. But my favourite thing is doing some sports in gyms, which can help me to refine my shape and lose a bit holiday weight.

3. When you have holidays, do you prefer to do things alone or with others?

分析：

这种题目，考官汇给你两个选项你既可以选择其中一个，也根据情况的不同，两个都选：

I guess when I’m on a holiday, I will try to balance the time I spend by myself and the time with others. I’d hang out with my friends a little and stay at home to accompany my family for some time. Besides, I would leave some time to myself, just staying alone, reading some books or simply doing nothing.

Actually, I prefer to do things alone on holidays. Some people think this is not a good for making friends but I guess everyone needs some private time to do whatever they like, especially on a lazy holiday, I really don’t want to be disturbed by anyone.

 

4. Do you like to travel in your holidays?

分析：

这道题目yes/no的问题形式，也就是说你回答喜欢、不喜欢，亦或是有时喜欢有时不喜欢都可以，只要给出正确的理由。题库中会大量出现这种喜欢与否的题目，在选择观点的时候考生可以随意一些，但是必须要给出原因或者例子来支持自己的观点。

种是分情况去说，根据假期长短，决定是否旅行：

If the holiday is long enough, like at least a week, I would like to go out and travel, preferably with some of my friends. Coz it’s always fun to go to other places and people tend to be more energetic during the trip. But if the holiday is relatively short, I would rather stay at home and spend the days with family. 有关拍照的话题，也算是雅思口语考试中一个经久不衰的话题了。以part 1，part 2和part 3的各种形式出现所以把这类话题的主题词汇，句型结构吃透是准备这类经典话题的必备技巧。

大家在我们的题库中准备part1的题目的时候有时候会觉得题目太多，一题一题准备起来太累，而且考官也很有可能临时调换提问的方法，灵活性比较大。但是其实大家仔细分析，这些题目就会发现part1之间也是可以串联的，即便是不同的题目其实也可以用一样的答法去回答。我们在今天的练习中给大家演示一下。

1. Do you like to take photographs?

Yes, I would say so. And thanks to those handy and convenient smartphones, taking pictures are so easy. Let alone to say, with the help of those free retouching apps, anyone could shoot a picture which looks like it were taken from a picture book. Enjoying those pictures has already become part of my everyday pleasure. It spices things up!

分析：喜欢拍照嘛？作为题点题的题目，请大家尽量避免特别否定的回答，不利于同一主题下不同题目的扩展。

 

2. How often do you take photographs?／In what situations do you take photographs?

Actually, I think I take photos almost every day. When I go out for dinner with my friends, I will take photos of food before we eat them. Sometimes, even annoying! I know. And also, when I go travelling, that, of course, means tons of pictures. Even it’s just another ordinary day, I will sometimes take selfies.

这两题其实问的是how often以及when，都是典型的part1的问题问法，但是其实我们是可以在回答how often的时候主动提供when的信息，也是一种自然的扩展方法在回答的时候只要稍稍调整下顺序就可以了。

3. Do you prefer to take photos yourself or to have other people take photos? (Why?)

I prefer to have professional photographers take my pictures, because they know how to get the best of you in a picture. Otherwise, I just prefer to take pictures by myself. I know which angle of me looks the best, especially in a group picture.

喜欢自己拍照还是别人拍呢？这个题目很简单，只要按照自己的情况简单的去作答就可以啦无论是哪种情况，记住要适当的扩展就可以了！

 

4. How do you keep your photos?／Do you frame (or have you framed) any of your photos? (If yes, which? & why?)

Usually I just use my iPhone 6s to take photos, and save them there. You know, with iCloud, those pictures can be synchronized to my laptop immediately. So I can get access to those pictures via several devices. Sometimes, if those pictures were taken during some important occasions, like my birthday. I might print it out and frame it or stick it on the fridge, so that I can see them everyday.

范例1：

I don’t buy gifts very often. This only happens when my friends or family members are having birthdays or when there are festivals to celebrate like Christmas or New Year.

I don’t like to buy gifts and send to people very often. I only do it when someone I know is celebrating birthday or anniversary. Sometimes I also give presents to friends and family during important festivals like Christmas or Chinese New Year.

关于frequency频率的问题可以直接给出答案，例如once a week / twice a year / three or four times a year，very often / frequently常常，rarely / never / hardly / barely几乎不，如果不是很清楚具体的频率，可以给出给礼物的场合或者情景，例如当有朋友过生日时when my friends have their birthdays / when celebrating friends’ birthdays，当过节日时when celebrating Christmas / New Year / Easters / festivals。

Yes. I do give pricy gifts to my friends because I think expensive ones make memorable gifts. Usually people would pay more attention to the expensive presents and I want my gifts to be remembered by people I know.

I don’t like to give expensive gifts because it could put a lot of pressure on my monthly expense and I don’t want to be at the risk of financially unstable as a student. So I normally would choose something that I could afford and give to people.

Chinese knots are very popular in China. People in my country usually give this as a gift to someone who just moves to a new place. It is a decorative handcraft that can be hung in the house and Chinese believe it can bring good luck to the home.

4. Why do people send gifts?

First and foremost, it is a tradition to give gifts on occasions like Christmas and New Year. Giving gifts on these occasions is becoming an expected ritual now. Another valid reason for giving gifts to others is that others are of value to us. Gift-giving occasions are opportunities to affirm ones personal bonds to loved ones. One can pick a gift based on your understanding of what the other person appreciates or needs.

1. Do you grow plants at home?

Yes, I use pots to grow plants and put them on the balcony to be exposed to the sunshine/in the living room for the decoration.

 

2. Do you know anything about growing a plant?

I just know some basic things, for example, plants need to be put under the sunshine and we should water them regularly.

 

3. Do people in your country send plants as gifts?

Well, I am not so sure but I do know there are some people who like to give some flowers, such as carnations, to visit some other people who stay in the hospital for long time. So they just use the plants and flowers to deliver their best wishes to their friends.

Actually I wouldn’t say that I have one particular favourite, and if I'm completely honest I'd have to say that I don’t really pay much attention to film stars'names or who they are and that kind of thing, I just like watching good films I'm not really bothered about who the actors or actresses are.

As I said earlier I don't pay much attention to film stars but If I had to choose I'd probably pick someone from my own country simply because I'd be more likely to see that person in the media, you know like being interviewed on chat shows so I'd be more familiar with that person.

1. What is your favorite festival?

Just like most Chinese people, my favourite festival is Spring Festival, which is also known as Chinese New Year. It's the main one in my country and most people have quite a nostalgic connection to it, so yeah without doubt, Spring Festival is my favourite.

So a lot of younger adults go travelling but older people will still opt for spending time with family.
